General Rules & Regulations

Dear Students,

 

This set of rules will help you to make your living with others more pleasant and comfortable. The way you get along with your fellow students and the respect you have for staff and school property, reveal your personality. Your co-operation and unique contribution will help the school run smoothly to the satisfaction of both teacher and student. Education is a joint venture!

 

Read the following rules carefully and comply with these to make Education FRUITFUL.

 

General Discipline

i) Students must uphold the values of respect, honesty, and responsibility in their behaviour

ii) The school uniform must be worn neatly and correctly on all school days.

iii) Running, shouting, or disruptive behaviour in classrooms, corridors, or assembly areas is not allowed.

iv) Students should treat school property with care. Any damage must be reported and may require compensation.

v) Mobile phones, smartwatches, and electronic gadgets are not allowed in school unless permitted by the Principal for educational purposes.

vi) The school reserves the right to take disciplinary action against students who fail to follow the rules.

 

Punctuality & Attendance

i)Students must be in school on time. The first bell signals the start of the assembly, after which latecomers will not be allowed without a valid reason.

ii) Regular attendance is mandatory. Leave of absence must be requested in advance through a written note from parents/guardians.

iii)Students absent due to illness must present a medical certificate for more than two consecutive days of absence.

iv) Missing school for trivial reasons is discouraged, especially before exams or assessments.

v) Attendance on the first and last working days of a term is compulsory.

 

Student Behaviour & Conduct

i) Students should always use polite language and maintain good manners with teachers, staff, and peers.

ii) Bullying, teasing, or any form of violence (physical or verbal) will result in strict disciplinary action.

iii) Students must stand up and greet teachers and visitors when they enter the classroom.

iv) School encourages a culture of cooperation; students should assist peers and respect diversity.

v) Misuse of social media or any action that tarnishes the reputation of the school will not be tolerated.

Academic Expectations

i) Students must complete homework and assignments on time.
ii) Do the preparation of your homework regularly. Both the preparation and the written work done at home are an essential part of your schoolwork.
iii) Keep a careful record of all you must do in your handbook. Work seriously remembering that everything is considered for promotion.
iv) Copying, cheating, or using unfair means during assessments will lead to disciplinary action.
v) Students must maintain a neat and organized notebook for each subject.
vi) Class participation and attentiveness during lessons are expected.
vii) Library books should be handled with care and returned on time.

Cleanliness & Personal Hygiene

i) Students must maintain personal hygiene, including clean uniforms, nails, and hair.
ii) Littering is strictly prohibited. Dustbins must be used to dispose of waste.
iii) Classrooms, corridors, and school premises must be kept clean and tidy.
iv) Students must take care of school furniture and avoid scribbling on desks, walls, or books.
v) Students will be fined for any damage to school property

Safety & Security

i) Students should never leave the school premises during school hours without permission.
ii) Running and playing in corridors or staircases is strictly forbidden.
iii) Any form of dangerous play, including pushing or pulling, is not allowed.
iv) Students must report any suspicious activity or security concerns to school authorities immediately.

Use of School Transport (If applicable)

i) Students using the school bus must be seated properly and follow the instructions of the bus staff.
ii) Misbehavior in the bus will result in disciplinary action and possible suspension from transport services.
iii) Students should arrive at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.

We urge all students of Sacred Heart ICSE School to work seriously and with a sense of responsibility. Good conduct, application and regular attendance throughout the year are indispensable conditions for success and formation of good character.

Success is not the destination, but the road that you take to get there!
